This was designed by Bruce Madden, our local expert on Jensen Healeys. His thought and engineering show in having it installed in sections that can be removed easily. If it was all welded in place, the U section over the rear-end would prohibit it from coming out. See the drawings and explanations. This can be done at any competent muffler shop.
